Description

SHARE Cancer Support is a national nonprofit organization providing free, peer-led emotional support, education, and navigation services for people impacted by breast, metastatic breast, ovarian, uterine, and gynecologic cancers. Through helplines, support groups, educational programs, and culturally responsive outreach, SHARE connects individuals with trained peers who understand the cancer experience firsthand and helps reduce isolation while empowering patients to make informed decisions about their care.

The AYA breast cancer support group is co-facilitated by our very own co-founder Julia and her first two breast cancer friends El and Alex!

Main Programs & Services

Peer Helplines:
SHARE’s national helplines connect callers with trained peers who have lived experience with similar diagnoses, providing compassionate emotional support, practical advice, and guidance throughout treatment and survivorship.

Support Groups:
The organization hosts a wide variety of free virtual and phone-based support groups, including diagnosis-specific groups, metastatic cancer groups, caregiver groups, and programs tailored to younger adults and underserved communities.

Educational Programs & Webinars:
SHARE offers workshops and expert-led educational events covering topics such as treatment updates, survivorship, mental health, advocacy, sexuality, genetics, and navigating healthcare systems.

Health Equity & Outreach:
Programs are intentionally designed to address disparities in cancer care by providing culturally inclusive education, multilingual resources, and targeted outreach to Black, Hispanic/Latina, LGBTQ+, and underserved populations.

Navigation & Resource Connection:
SHARE helps individuals locate additional support services including financial assistance, transportation resources, treatment information, and community-based cancer programs.
