13thirty Cancer Connect helps adolescents and young adults (ages 13–39) diagnosed with cancer live their best lives through age-appropriate peer support, wellness programs, patient navigation, advocacy, and resources aimed at coping, self-advocacy, and transitioning through treatment and survivorship. Many in person activities in Rochester and Syracuse .
Center-based community: Provides vibrant, peer-led spaces in Rochester and Syracuse—described as safe, home-like “getaway” environments . Approximately 150 AYAs and their families participate annually.
Holistic wellness programs: Offers fitness, nutrition, expressive arts, and a mobile wellness app to build confidence and healthy survivorship habits. Also offers a kit to help AYAs navigate end of life.
Scholarships: Awards the $2,000 Melissa Sengbusch Inspiration Scholarship to AYA members pursuing healthcare careers.
Advocacy & navigation: Supports self-advocacy for school and work, and engages in public advocacy efforts. Includes caregiver, school outreach, and community partnerships.
Who– a 13thirty Cancer Connect Member. (survivor or current patient) who is pursuing career in healthcare
