Description

Teen Cancer America partners directly with hospitals to create age-appropriate oncology spaces and programs for teens and young adults (ages 13–39). Their mission is to improve treatment experience, outcomes, and survival by integrating peer support, creative expression, and advocacy into clinical care.

Main Programs

AYA-Friendly Care Environments

Partners with hospitals to introduce dedicated teen & young adult oncology units—welcoming, vibrant, and peer-focused to reduce isolation and improve wellbeing

 Play It Back Music Program

A songwriting and production initiative where AYAs collaborate with professionals to create original music

Includes virtual “Play It Back Experience” hangouts—peer-driven creative space

Open to all musical skill levels and available across the country

Digital & Peer Support Resources

Provides peer stories, videos, a live hotline (+1‑800‑955‑4572), chat support, and newsletters

Members stay connected through media and shared experiences

Hospital Advocacy & Standards

Advocates for national AYA care standards and integrates supportive programs into hospital systems
